Bethany Christian School, an outreach of Rio Vista Church, offers an excellent academic program in an intimate setting in downtown Fort Lauderdale. As a Christian school, we provide a nurturing environment that will help your child to reach his or her full potential in every area of life — academically, socially, physically, and spiritually. This approach begins with our youngest students in our daycare program and continues all the way through our elementary and middle school grades.
In the academic sphere, Bethany's students have routinely outperformed the national averages at every grade level. The most recent results of the NWEA's Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) test demonstrate the academic prowess of our students. Ninety-one percent of our 8th grade graduates literally scored off the charts — demonstrating a grade equivalency beyond the nation’s average high school senior. Ninety-three percent of Bethany Middle School students achieved reading scores above the national median score. Likewise, our 5th grade students finished their Elementary careers averaging scores on par with the nation’s average student entering 11th grade.
Bethany Christian School has consistently ranked in the top 10% of schools nationwide for more than a decade. Our graduates are accepted into the county's most competitive private high schools and public school magnet programs, where they continue to excel. Bethany is triple-accredited by Christian Schools of Florida, the National Council for Private School Accreditation, and Middle States Association.
Bethany is a small school that offers an impressive range of enrichment opportunities and after school activities. Our students, from preschool to middle school, are exposed to an impressive range of electives and enrichment classes -- including Art, Computer, Library, Drama, Music, P.E., and Spanish.
