Bethany Christian School has adopted Saxon Math curriculum for all grade levels in the 2018-19 school year. According to the U.S. Department of Education, Saxon Math is best known for its "incremental development and continual review of mathematical concepts to give students time to learn and practice concepts throughout the year." This method of instruction has proven tremendously effective, leading Saxon to become one of the most respected curricula in the nation.
Studies have shown that Saxon Math leads to increased retention, higher test scores, and sustained high-level performance, The Institute of Education Sciences recently compiled and analyzed research on student performance across several states. This research showed that the average student's performance rankings climbed nine percentile points in schools that had adopted Saxon Math. Likewise, in the five largest studies, researchers found that students in schools using Saxon Math gained between six and sixteen percentile points in national rankings.
The faculty at Bethany is extremely excited to incorporate Saxon Math into our curriculum. If you would like more information, click here.
